Today I’m excited to share my honest opinion and provide a full Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk Lipsticks Review, with swatches of both the original pillow talk lipstick and medium pillow talk lipstick. My Pillow Talk lipsticks launched to give EVERYONE what I call ‘the most beautiful lips of their life’. The moisturising matte formula smooths and shapes the lips of your dreams to perfect every pout. One coat enhances my natural lip color; two or three more, and I have a pink lip that’s just shy of a berry tone.

On the other hand, the medium pillow talk lipstick is equally as gorgeous and adds the perfect “pop of color”. After trying Charlotte Tilbury's Matte Revolution lipstick in Pillow Talk and pairing it with the Lip Cheat liner, I can totally see why these products are cult favorites. They give the effect of fuller, plumper lips and the natural rosy hue is easy to dress up or down. The lip kit has become my new go-to, especially since it holds up against eating and drinking, and I can't wait to try the Medium and Intense shades to expand my lineup. It’s absolutely beautiful, flattering on all skin tones, and extremely versatile for everyday wear giving you a total bang for your buck.

That said, I’ve always been curious about all the hype of the popular CT pillow talk lipsticks. In case you're not familiar, Charlotte Tilbury's Lip Cheat liner in Pillow Talk ($24) first put Pillow Talk lips — known for giving a plusher, juicier look with a natural rosy flush — on the map in 2013. Another long-time iconic product is the Matte Revolution Lipstick in Pillow Talk ($34), which claims to be a "moisturizing matte" and a perfect partner for the coordinated liner. The level of warmth or coolness will ultimately depend on the individual who’s wearing it, and typically appears more pink on warm skin tones and more nude/neutral on cooler skin tones.

It’s a 5 to 10-minute walk from the railway platform and the cruise terminal is just over a mile away. The reception area makes use of clean lines and chrome with pops of bright colour used in the lounge sofas and chairs. Plenty of hotels are located right in the centre of Southampton or just outside the city center, minutes from the M3 and M27 motorways, perfect for when driving to port. When staying for a few days and travelling with kids, take the family for a fun day out at Paultons Park, home of Peppa Pig World, or visit the exciting Marwell Zoo. Drivers will move your car to one of the parking areas adjacent to the cruise terminals. At the end of the cruise you can walk to your car, this only takes a few minutes, it is also possible that the driver will pick up the car and then bring it to the terminal.

Hotels convenient for the Ocean & Queen Elizabeth Cruise Terminals

Whilst the Marina Hotel and Spa also offers something a little different, and sits in a pleasant marina complex. The 27 rooms and 4 apartments are individually furnished and have home-from-home comforts such as tea and coffee making facilities and soft lighting. Situated near Southampton Common, the city centre is just over a mile away so it’s easy to nip into town from the hotel. Long-term cruise parking is available but is subject to availability and needs to pre-booked. If staying close to the train station is important, the Novotel is a great option.

Value hotels along the waterfront close to Southampton's cruise terminals

The Novotel and Ibis hotels are within about 500 yards of Southampton train and coach stations too. The best way to get from your hotel to Mayflower and QEII cruise terminals is by taxi, it only takes 5 to 10 minutes depending on which terminal. Unfortunately there is no public transport or shuttle service from hotels to Southampton port. The good value ibis Southampton is well located on West Quay Road very close to Southampton cruise port and adjacent to the main railway station. As the property is close to the nearest dock, it can be also comfortably walked within 15 minutes.

Long stay parking for cruise guests is available as part of the cruise and park packages. Transport to the cruise terminal, provided by a local taxi company, can be booked via the front office. Some of the cheapest hotels in Southampton are conveniently located close to the cruise terminals, coach and rail stations and the city centre. There are no other services offered, such as room service, luggage porterage and health facilities.

Bear in mind that there are four cruise terminals in Southampton port and they are widely spread apart. The Mayflower and City cruise terminals are closest to the city and are within reasonable walking distance (10-15 minutes) from hotels if you do not have too much luggage. The main Southampton railway and coach stations are in the city centre, very convenient for many of the hotels and cruise terminals. Whilst there are hotels outside the centre of Southampton, the vast majority of cruise passengers opt for a hotel in the city centre or along the waterfront. Many of these are also chain hotels, but they offer a little more in terms of services and facilities compared with their budget counterparts.
